New site - new features!
Many of you have had a chance to review the BETA test version of our new site and thanks to all those who've provided feedback so far. If you haven't checked it out yet, please click here.
The great news for us is that the new site will be launched "for real" imminently and consequently we thought we would whet your appetities further with a quick review of the site's new features:
Candidates
- Upload showreels
- Make your profile searchable
- Hide your profile from employers
- View saved, applied and profile matched jobs
- Get as much feedback as you need
- Unlimited portfolio
- Add tags and titles to portfolio images
Employer
- Post briefs (for attracting freelancers) for free!
- Upgraded 'my jobs' section
- Enhanced statistics including live job stat's
- Enhanced CV search and favourites area
- View candidates' showreels
- New dashboard area and tabs for easier navigation
- Add more users to your account and manage usage
- Ability to block candidates you've seen before
- Non-UK filters for job applicants
We're still tweaking bits and pieces on the BETA test site so if you have any comments, please send them through to our technical team as we're always keen for feedback from our users.
Once the site has been launched the old version of creativepool will still be available. You will be able to switch back and forth between the original and the new site.
London Festival of Architecture, 20 June-20 July
Kicking off later this month, the London Festival of Architecture comprises of 600 events celebrating the city's architectural diversity.
The Festival theme is "Fresh" with a range of innovative events designed to capture the vitality of the capital's buildings and architects, plus cause debate.
There's too many events to list here but the Sonic Garden, banquet of jelly architecture and Make a Sundial workshop sound like fun.

Stopping the Buck – the live debate discussing the difficulties facing anyone trying to break into the design industry – takes place at the Oracle Bar, Brewery Wharf, Leeds TONIGHT at 6.30pm.
The panel includes a cross-section of design industry figure heads – such as product designer Lee McCormack who wrote ‘Designers are wankers' – and local academia.
It should be a night of lively discussion and an excellent networking opportunity too! To find out more click here.
Blog of the month: Created in Birmingham
Ozzy Osbourne, Cat Deeley and the original Mini were all created in Birmingham, as was this design blog which is aimed at bringing together the region's artistic and creative communities.
Having said that, you don't need to be based in Brum to find something worth reading. Recent posts that caught our eye include Commercially Inviable Records, an artist who makes miniature sculptures out of dust(!), and comedy audio-visual editors: Chop Shop.
