Instructions and Tips on adding a successful job advert
Adding a job to the Creativepool jobs board is an easy task. Once you have chosen your job package and entered your details, Creativepool would have credited your account with the applicable job credits.
Adding a job
1. Log in to your account using your username and password you chose when you joined creativepool (If you can't remember them, check your email inbox as we would have sent you a confirmation). If you can't find them and would like us to send you a new password then click password recovery.
2. Once you are logged in then click on the job management tab. Here is the page that contains all of the fields that you need to add your job(s). Below is a little explanation about each of the fields:
Job title
This is what's displayed on your add - make it as descriptive as you like. A good job title says what the job is in detail and adds interest to the users eg. Web Designer with exceptional php skills.
Your reference
To help you keep a track of your jobs.
Job tagging - IMPORTANT
This category needs a bit of attention. This section governs our email auto-alerts that get sent to our users and also the search terms that candidates will use to find your job. Therefore choose as many categories from this list as you think are relevant to the job you have placed. For example if you are looking for a "Graphic Designer" you may want to choose "Graphic Designer" "Creative Artworker" etc.
Contract
Please choose what type of role it is. You can choose multiples in here for example if it is for a temp to perm role then you can choose - permanent, temp to perm, temp/freelancing.
Job start date
When the job starts - put in ASAP or TBC if you like but adding in the exact start date will get a good response.
Contract Duration
If your job is for a freelancer or fixed term contract, put the details in here e.g. 3 months.
Remove Advert
All jobs on creativepool are held on the site for 28 days - this is set automatically and cannot be changed. If you would like to remove your job before the 28 days is up then enter that date here.
Salary/rate
Addin a monetary value such as '£25k', £25,000 and use the drop down to choose what period this salary/rate covers. As a general rule if you put in a salary, you are more likely to attract the right person
Location - IMPORTANT
Please choose the closest match to where your job is. Avoid using a "top category" such as "Greater London".
Job description
This is where you can put in the text describing the job on offer. What you put in here can have a dramatic effect on the number of applying applicants and the type of applicants that you get.
To give you and us a better indication of how many users have accessed and applied for your jobs please do not put in the description contact details for yourself or your web site.
1. Keep your copy short and brief. In the age of information we are all constantly bombarded by way too much copy. Tell the user what they want to know as quickly as possible. Be specific.
2. Qualify the exact location of the job.
3. Qualify any further benefits of the job.
4. Add in your web address if you think this is relevant and will give a bit more information about your organisation.
5. Just put in the facts - don't be tempted to make a job sound better than it is. Make sure you get across the benefits of working for your organisation.
6. Make yourself aware of the law. Discrimination against individuals is illegal! If we are made aware of a job on the site we consider to fall under this category, we will remove it. Please see the advert confirmation text below for more details
Contact details
These are currently set to the default you added when you joined. If you would like the contact name, phone number or email address to be different, please change them here.
Send email when job expires
Ticking this will tell our system to send you out an email once the job has past its 28 days period on Creativepool. After a job has been removed, a copy of it is held in your favourites under 'jobs' for 12 months.
Advert confirmation
By ticking this final tickbox you confirm that this advert complies with any relevant employment legislation in respect of age, race or gender.
Please note: On October the 1st, 2006 the government introduced new legislation regulating what you are allowed to say in an advert regarding age discrimination that you should be aware of. We have added the details of this in under The Age Discrimination Act.
We cannot stress enough how important it is that you read this article and ensure your advert is compliant.
To give you an idea of what is involved you are advised not to include in your advert anything that asks for a specific number of years' experience and to avoid using language that might imply that you would prefer someone of a certain age, such as mature, young or energetic.
Other Features
Other things that may be helpful?
1. There is a statistics page under the my jobs section of your account so you can keep an eye on the number of users who have looked at your jobs, the number of job alerts sent and the number of applicants.
2. If you need to edit your job this can be done from the live jobs tab.
3. You can also view the applicants to your jobs profiles for up to 12 months after the job has been removed from the site.
We hope that this helps. If you do have any questions please do not hesitate to get in contact with us
