Why should my recruitment advertising include Creativepool?
In the creative economy, the people who make up your organisation are by far your most important asset. However, you'll already know that the people who know how to develop great creative ideas do not grow on trees – uncovering top creative talent requires a specialist approach.
So when you're looking for a jobs board on which to advertise a creative role, it makes sense to use one that is geared towards your industry. And Creativepool is just that. Our service is designed to help candidates and employers within the creative industry find the roles/people they need.
We provide creative people in the UK with a place to post their CV, portfolio and showreel online, allowing potential employers to review their work at the click of a mouse. In addition, Creativepool sends out email jobs alerts to our candidates which are tailored to their exact job requirements. This means that the right people will view the right jobs, at the right time.
In short, we reach the people in our industry and our industry alone. For that reason, both creative candidates and employers return time and time again to Creativepool.
I haven't received a confirmation email from Creativepool. What do I need to do?
If you are using a Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail account, you may have to adjust your filter settings. In some accounts, our confirmation emails will appear in junk (Hotmail) or spam (Gmail and Yahoo) folders.
To retrieve these, just go into the relevant area and open the email from Creativepool. At the top, click on 'mark as safe' (Hotmail) or 'not spam' (Gmail and Yahoo). This should move the email in question to your regular inbox. Any future emails from us should now appear in your inbox.
If you still can't find the confirmation email from Creativepool, then you'll need to open up your email settings and adjust them accordingly. See below for instructions:
Hotmail
Click on 'options' in the top right hand corner of your screen, then select 'more options' (it should be the bottom one). Under 'Junk Mail', click on 'filters and reporting'. On the second level of options, change the setting 'delete junk mail' from 'immediately' to 'Later'. Next, go back to the options menu and under 'junk mail', click on 'safe and blocked senders'. Then, click on 'safe senders'. Once in this screen, add 'accounts@creativepool.co.uk' into the field and click the 'add to list' tab.
This should then allow our Creativepool emails into your inbox.
Gmail and Yahoo
You shouldn't experience the same level of problems with these accounts but if you do, go to the 'filters' or 'settings' areas and you should be able to work out what you need to click on from the above Hotmail example.

How do I place a job?
Placing a job on Creativepool is as simple as clicking on the job management tab, choosing your package and then entering your details. The whole process takes about 10 minutes. Once your job has been successfully posted on our jobs board, it will appear in our list of the latest jobs on the Creativepool home page. Plus, your job will be emailed out, through our email auto-alert system, to all the applicable Creativepool candidates.
What is the difference between posting a job and posting a brief?
The mechanics behind posting these are exactly the same, but briefs are only for freelance, temporary or contract positions. A brief role will only remain on the Creativepool jobs board for 14 days (as opposed to 28 days for a permanent position) and only those of our users who are registered as looking for freelance or part-time work will receive the corresponding email alert.
What happens after I post my job/brief?
Once you have filled out your job details on Creativepool and clicked ‘post', your role will move to our ‘Pending Jobs' section. While here, your job will be given a health check by one of our team to ensure that its performance is maximised on Creativepool. This is a completely FREE service which few other sites offer.
The job will then be published live on the site and shortly afterwards the automatic email alerts will be sent out to the relevant candidates on Creativepool, based on the criteria you have selected. Once a candidate receives your role via email (or if they have seen the job on our jobs board) they can click on the link in the email and apply. You'll then receive their application, including their contact details and CV, plus a link to their portfolio (if they have uploaded one) directly to your inbox.
After 14 days (for briefs) and 28 days (for job postings) your advert is automatically removed from the site. You can select to receive an automatic email alert to let you know when the job has been removed.
What type of jobs/briefs can I post?
We specialise in jobs for the UK's creative industries - advertising, design, media, digital/new media, interiors, print, publishing, fashion and architecture.
How do I edit my job once it is posted?
Once you have posted your job, you can edit and tweak it as much as you like within the 28 day period. Simply go to the job management area of your homepage and click on ‘My jobs'. You will see your role and can click on ‘edit' to amend any part of the description/targeting.
How many people will see my job or brief?
Each time a job or brief is added to Creativepool all the users on our site that match the exact criteria of your job/brief get sent an email alerting them to your role. Add this to the 150,000+ unique users that Creativepool receives every month and you'll see why we are one of the largest creative recruitment service sites in the UK.
How many people will apply to my job/brief?
There are so many factors that can influence the response rate you will get including: the type of job; where it is; the company; etc. All these things will affect how many candidates apply for the position. The other thing that also affects your ad is the copy you use. Take a look below to see our suggestions on how to write a good advert.
Tips on writing an appealing job advert.
Good people are always in demand so here are some brief tips to make your advert stand out from the rest:
1. Keep your copy tight and brief. In the age of information we are all constantly bombarded by way too much copy. Tell the user what they want to know as quickly as possible.
2. Make a catchy headline, this way your advert will stand out from the rest.
3. However, make sure your headline is on brief and is backed up by the copy.
4. Put in a salary range - this may not increase the number of applicants but you'll save time by excluding applicants that want more than you can pay.
5. Just put in the facts - don't be tempted to make a job sound better than it is.
6. Make sure you get across the benefits of working for your organisation.
7. Make sure you choose a job type that matches the applicant you want.
8. The Age Discrimination Act, 2006 states that it is illegal to discriminate against anyone based on their age. Consequently, we cannot accept copy which highlights the number of years' experience a person needs to have accumulated to apply for the job. If we are made aware of a job on the site we consider to fall under this category we will remove it.
What if I am an recruitment agency?
Creativepool realises that employment agencies offer a great service to the design community and as such, the site has been especially engineered with employment agencies in mind.
If you work for a specialist creative recruitment agency, we'd be delighted to discuss your recruitment needs and explore how Creativepool can help you. Please take a look at our contact us page for details on how to get in touch.
How can I get started?
All you have to do is create an account on Creativepool (which takes 5 minutes) and select whether you want to use our jobs board or CV search facility to find candidates on Creativepool. To start this process, click here to review our packages.
Creativepool sells advertising space on each of the pages on the site. We can deliver these adverts specifically to your target audience.
For example, if you are trying to attract Graphic Designers, then only our users who have a quick profile that says they are a Graphic Designer will see you advert.
If you are interested in advertising then please take a look at our contact us page for details on how to get in touch.
What is feedback?
Our feedback system is designed to give you a quick visual assessment of a candidate. When a candidate joins Creativepool they have the option to add a reference from a previous employer via the feedback system. Our system sends out an email to their elected referee requesting feedback.
The organisation that receives this can then log in to Creativepool and leave an online reference for that individual along with a star rating. This rating runs from one to five stars with five being the best.
Do I have to register to leave feedback?
Yes. This is to ensure that this part of our service is not abused by people leaving "misleading" information. We also randomly check references left by users to check their validity. Don't worry though, unless you specifically request that you want us to contact you, we won't.
I am having issues with leaving feedback
To leave feedback, click on the link that has been sent to your email address. You need to ensure that all of the link is intact as sometimes long urls (addresses) can get broken up by your mail programme. The full link should look something like this:
http://www.creativepool.co.uk/feedback.php?ref=username
When you click this link you should see a feedback request page once you have registered on the site. As part of the feedback request process, you will be asked to register on Creativepool. This is to ensure that this part of our service is not abused by people leaving "misleading" information.
Once you have registered, you will have the opportunity to leave your feedback. If this doesn't appear to work then try and copy and paste the whole url (address) into your browser (Internet Explorer, etc). If you are still having problems then please get in touch with us using the contact us page.
I've forgotten my password how do I log in?
Go to the home page of the site, click on login and then 'forgotten password'. This asks you to enter your email address and we'll then automatically send your username and password to your email inbox.
If it doesn't appear and you use a free mail service (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc) then check in the Bulk Mailbox as sometimes automated emails can be viewed as Spam from “over-enthusiastic” email programmes.
I need to edit my details, where do I do this?
Log in to your Creativepool homepage and select the ‘edit my profile' link from the top navigation.
