Position Overview

SEGA Europe Online Services are looking for a Senior Web Designer to join the design team to work on a wide variety of very creative & exciting projects. Working closely with the Lead Design Manager the candidate will help to drive, plan & deliver work of the highest standards to ensure all creative activity is world class & contributes to the development of the online proposition & customer experience, usability & compliance with SEGA brand guidelines & site principles.

The ideal candidate will have an exceptional portfolio, be a talented strong conceptual thinker, be proactive & have a proven record of getting things done. They will be capable of re-prioritising tasks when needed, focused & in control when put under pressure to meet deadlines, an advocate of the value of the user centred design process & passionate about his/her design skills & the Internet.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creation of initial design from a creative brief, through to final build & test
• Conceive, design & build cross-platform, multi-lingual micro-sites for all of the company products.
• Work closely with internal developers for implementation of projects
• Work within the design team to create impressive high quality interactive experiences & online graphics to keep existing websites updated.
• Concept & build of marketing & promotional online creative & email campaigns.
• Provide support & deputise for the Lead Design Manager, when required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Experience & proven capability of designing & building websites/assets
• Ability to create captivating user experiences. Strong, flexible creative flair & superb attention to detail, producing work of a consistently high standard.
• Expert command of Adobe CS4 Web Edition to design & build websites - using Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash including Action script 3, Dreamweaver including HTML, XML and CSS.
• Full understanding of the possibilities & limitations of HTML, CSS, XML, Accessibility & CMS on the creative solution.
• Degree level graphic design qualification or the equivalent ( other formal qualifications are desirable)
• A firm ability to commercially interpret a written & verbal brief. Ensuring all creative/ technical requirements are met on all levels of the creative process.
• Must be able to work to deadlines, both independently & within the team.
• Must be Adaptable & be experienced in coping proficiently with fast changing situations & tight deadlines.
• Professional, Attentive & Extremely well organised with the ability to prioritise & multi-task. Able to confidently manage own task's effectively without frequent supervision.
• Good aptitude for learning new software packages & processes.
• Outgoing, confident & a strong communicator with good team interaction skills, & a firm ability to give & receive constructive comments on all projects.
• Excellent online commercial understanding and working creatively within existing brand guidelines
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams & an ability to confidently critique your own work & provide development techniques & guidance to other designers.
• Working knowledge of video editing, 3D modelling/animation, & Papervision skills would be a distinct advantage.
