Scribbles Studio manages the Commercial activities, licensing rights and design requirements for Humphreys Corner, My Unusual Friends and greeting card publishing business; Sally Hunter Publishing. In addition to the above, Scribbles Studio is also working on new story-led brands, which are planned for launch later in the year.

Humphreys Corner was first launched in February 1998 and is now a well established and hugely successful international nursery brand, translating across a raft of nursery products which include: bedding, furniture, apparel, soft toys, books, greeting cards and gifts

My Unusual friends is a new addition to the stable of characters/brands created by Sally Hunter the Managing Director of Scribbles Studio and was recently launched in M&S.

The Role

An exciting opportunity for a Junior Designer, wishing to join a fast growing nursery design and licensing company.

The successful applicant will be a talented designer/art worker of a high standard and already have the following attributes:

Exceptional Mac skills (Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator ideally CS4)
Experience in Coral Painters water colour application and or proficient water colour artist
Able to work and develop ideas/designs independently as well as part of a team
Experience and understanding of design for print
Good communication skills
Able to follow a project from concept to completion
Demonstrate enthusiasm, innovative, creative and artistic flair
A great eye for detail
Keen to develop skills and expertise
Understanding of production (able to produce print-ready files)

Reporting directly to the head designer, the Junior Designer will undertake the following tasks:

Production of design visuals, mock-ups
Scan and clean illustrations
On screen artwork (colouring up)
Undertake any photographic work
Maintain an up-to-date illustration database
Work from a brief to develop new ideas and concepts
Take finished artwork to a print-ready stage
