What’s the role?

The Head of Production’s role is to ensure that the agency consistently delivers advertising creative and brand communications of the highest production quality, utilising the best industry talent to transform ideas into effective solutions for our clients.

Accountabilities:

Creative Production

  • The production of all advertising creative and brand communications
  • Review creative concepts to establish feasibility and method of production
  • Selection and management of talented 3rd party creative and technology suppliers
  • Provide client services with accurate costs for creative development and production of work

    Production Process

  • Development and implementation of the end-to-end creative development and production process
  • Review client and pitch briefs, recommending the appropriate process to best meet objectives

    Producer Team

  • Managing and developing a team of producers
  • Leadership and mentoring of the team
  • Recruitment and training of producers to ensure that the agency has the right skills and levels of experience to deliver client work
  • Provide an escalation point for Producers and work with heads of department to resolve any issues

    Creative and Production Resourcing

  • Review client and pitch briefs and recommend the appropriate level of resource and skill required for the task
  • Manage and forward plan the resourcing of the Creative Department and Producer Team, working with Resource Management and Client Services to ensure allocation is on target and client work is being delivered to expectation

    Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for production on key accounts and pitches
  • Uphold quality standards of all creative deliverables
  • Establish and continually improve the systems and communications tools to support and improve the efficiency of the production process
  • Support Client Services in assuring that all Statements of Work (SOWs) and pitches are scoped and staffed effectively for profitability and creative excellence goals
  • Forward planning and management of our retained client’s annual production budgets ensuring that Client Services are aware of budget spend and allocation
  • Work with the Creative Director and Client Services to ensure that the right teams are allocated to clients and briefs
  • Work with the Creative Director to recommend an annual hiring plan and corresponding budgets for the Creative Department and Producer Team
  • Work with Resource Management and Creative Director to develop a list of preferred freelancers advertising and brand communications work ensuring that the business can scale resource with client requirements whilst maintaining creative excellence and profitability
  • Onboard all new starters and new clients to Production at Razorfish
  • Internally and externally promote the department – peer and industry recognition, public speaking, awards and reputation, talent attraction and retention

    Experience

  • Ownership and management of the production process in a creatively led organisation
  • Direct line management and development of a team’s skills and behaviours
  • Expert at producing large scale interactive advertising and brand communications work for leading brands
  • Have been lead producer on high-profile digital brand campaigns in multiple sectors: Retail, Automotive, FMCG, Charity etc.
  • Annual and campaign budget management of creative production for client business ensuring that client budgets are utilised effectively
  • Extensive experience of selection and management of 3rd party suppliers and freelancers

    Skills:

  • Ability to review creative concepts and recommend how they are to be produced to deliver the best quality product at the right budget
  • Comprehensive awareness of current and emerging web technologies, media and trends Strong and existing relationships with creative services and technology 3rd parties Ability to develop strong relationships with clients, account teams and creative teams
  • Strong negotiation and issue resolution skills
  • Knowledge and management of all steps required in the creative development and production process – from briefs and creative development to QA, tracking and trafficking
  • Commercial acumen – budgeting, SOW development, and tracking profitability
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to manage cross functional teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Effective organisational approach, performance management orientation, and superb interpersonal skills
