My client is a publishing house and the job is for their in-housecreative digital agency. You'll be building a range of onlinesolutions for clients. Their current portfolio includes 21 clients, anumber of which are global brands.
They are currently expanding and require a front end designer tojoin their award winning team. Your impressive portfolio will show thatyou have solid coding skills, preferably gained in an agencyenvironment. You will work across the board on a range of sites andclients, and will have to show that you can work quickly.
You should be able to effectively demonstrate an enormous enthusiasmfor the web and web technologies, conscientiousness and dedication. Youkey skills will be in CSS, HTML, XHTML (hand-coded) and you willpreferably have worked with VisualStudio, although this is notessential. Actionscript abilities would be an advantage.
You will be required to turn design mock-ups into well-structuredXHTML so experience using Photoshop/Illustrator is necessary. You willhave strong browser and cross-platform experience and an understandingof information architecture would be an advantage. You will needexcellent attention to detail and very high standards of usability andaccessibility.
Essential skills:
Advanced level HTML, XHTML and CSS
Photoshop/Illustrator
Experience of cross-browser and cross-platform issues
Awareness of accessibility (WAI) and usability issues
Desirable skills:
Experience of creating community site apps (Facebook &MySpace)
SEO awareness
Flash (and Actionscript)
Microsoft Silverlight
