If you want to be part of it, here's your chance: We're currently looking for a talented Visual and Web Designer Intern to join our team!

What you'll be doing:

* Generating design implementations for web and desktop software
* Designing new or updated functionality with emphasis on usability
* Creating and outputting illustrations, icons and page furniture
* Maintaining and developing Mendeley's visual style
* Being responsible for the layout and visual appearance of the company website, ensuring that brand continuity is maintained
* Working closely with developers to guide implementation and improve usability

What you should ideally bring:

* Visual flair, and experience in the area of visual & web design
* Experience using Photoshop/Illustrator or similar programs for layout and illustration
* Interest in, if not experience of, usability and user-centric design
* Knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques
* Attention to detail and an eye for visual consistency
* An understanding of the web development process front-end web development skills using XHTML/CSS, a bonus
* A flexible attitude with motivation for learning and developing skills on the job, with support wherever possible
