Senior PHP Developer - Leading Integrated Agency - London to £40k

I'm currently working for a highly renown and successful integrated agency in the heart of Soho, who are looking urgently for a talented and experienced PHP Developer to head up their technology team whilst they are looking to grow their digital offering.

The agency ideally need a skilled developer with a penchant for LAMP and other open-source technologies, who has a proven agency background and is ready to take the next step up into Lead /Senior role.

Responsibilities
* Define the technical strategy with the development team of each project: pipeline, tools, and key development procedures.
* Assesses technical risk and plan the mitigation against those risks.
* Evaluate development team members, identifying strengths, problem areas, and developing plans for improving performance.
* Evaluate interview candidates for technical positions.
* Research and evaluate new technology and tools as opportunities for innovation and development excellence.
* During pre-production oversee technical design documentation process for correctness and timeliness.
* Provide input to the delivery disciplines on the practicality of initial design goals and impact to the overall project timeline.
* Identify weak area that need code improvement and schedule corrective action, when possible.
* Create automated test processes, where possible.

Capabilities
You must have experience of
* Writing stable, object orientated, secure applications in PHP v5.
* Designing complex and performant tables, views, store procedures in MySql.
* Administration of MySql including backup, query performance tuning.
* Adminstration of Linex servers
Desirable experience includes:
* Performing Code Reviews;
* Experience with setting up Continuous Integration and static code analysis;
* Undergoing penetration testing;
