Faversham House Group is looking to recruit an Art Editor / Magazine Designer to join the
Design & Production team.

Faversham House Group is one of the UK's leading independent media companies. We publish B2B magazines, organise exhibitions and conferences, awards events, websites, dozens of related directories and special supplements. Therefore we require an individual who has the drive and determination to work across a diverse portfolio, from magazine design to advertising, marketing and branding material creation. You will have a creative approach and a genuine passion for magazine design.

The successful applicant will have extensive experience in magazine design, must be design qualified and able to demonstrate a quality portfolio of relevant magazine work showing both creative and technical ability. Main job responsibilities

Design and layout of editorial pages across our B2B magazine portfolio, working with design and editorial teams

Create layouts from magazine templates but also design and implement new styles

Update and prepare templates acting as brand custodian maintaining and developing brand identity across the magazine portfolio
Assistance and design of printed publications and promotional materials from initial concept to print-ready finished artwork within corporate style guidelines and to deadlines

Utilise style guides and ensure consistency of the FHG brand identity and core values

Contribute to and maintain high standard design quality

Skills

Proficiency in using graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite CS5
and QuarkXPress

Knowledge of standard PC software

Resourceful, pro-active and composed when faced with challenges

Ability to respond flexibly to new ideas and promote change

Structured and systematic approach to work

Ability to plan and organise own work

Experience of working under pressure to meet deadlines

High working standards, incorporating great attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal and liaison skills with good communication skills

Ability to work individually and as part of a team

Knowledge of publishing techniques

Experience in using multimedia and web based packages (a plus)
