We are now searching for a talented in-house Web Designer to work part-time out of the London Office for a minimum of 3 days per week. The successful candidate will report to the Vice President, Production, Europe. Responsibilities will include:

• Creating web images and digital illustrations for site and product development
• Creating graphical User Interface elements (banners, buttons, sign up pages etc.)
• Optimizing web images for download efficiency
• Responding to a variety of web and graphics related requests across departments
• Working on website design changes in conjunction with the Vice President Production, Europe and Vice President, Product, Global
• Working with Marketing Managers on external and internal marketing initiatives
• Performing maintenance and updates to existing websites
• Work alongside the Photo Editor to fulfil image requests for European Travelzoo Top 20 lists and Websites (UK, France, Germany, Spain), including iconographic research, image cropping and uploading

Candidate profile

• Degree educated (or equivalent) with a preferred specialization in Software Systems for Arts and Media/Multimedia /Graphic Design or Publishing combined with Computer Science
• Extensive graphic user interface design experience
• UI expert or advanced understanding of impact of web design on the Company's competitive advantage
• Good understanding of web imaging and display formats
• Capacity to communicate efficiently with multi-lingual staff based in Europe and US (Marketing, Production, IT)
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Strong knowledge of and work experience with technologies such as XML, XHTML programming and RSS, JavaScript, ActionScript, HTML and CSS as well as Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Flash, Dreamwaver and Paint Shop
