The Graphics department for this TV Network is responsible for supplying and guiding on-air, Live and off-air design aspects for many briefs for each of their 3 channels. The department aims to produce a strong visual style for the channels, working closely with creative areas of the business as well as On Air, Marketing and Digital.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be reporting to the Art Director, and will be responsible for producing Off-Air design solutions for our client. This will involve print designing, artworking and print buying. The designer will be required to possess a mix of commercial awareness, brand awareness, an excellent creative eye and a thorough knowledge of the entire print process.
They will be responsible for:
• Designing promotional material for the marketing and press departments, from designing leaflets, tickets, posters, invites, press and advertisements to creating banners for corporate events.
• A wide range of brand related design responsibilities, including designing and updating brand stationery and style guides for its 3 main channels.
• Liaising with external suppliers to produce materials for the client. • Print buying and Artworking for the Graphics department.
• Occasionally overseeing freelancers within the team.
Role-Specific Skills/Attributes
The role requires the designer to be highly organized, be able to work independently or as part of teams, especially as they will be working with other design freelancers, On-Air producers, marketing and press executives and the digital department. The successful candidate will be able to handle pressure and tight deadlines, multi tasking and attention to detail. They will need to possess an excellent knowledge of the Adobe Creative suite and Mac systems, and have a sound knowledge of the printing process. The designer will need to be an excellent communicator, being able to fully understand the client and the brief, as well as being able to interpret their ideas and concepts into strong outputs. They will have a thorough understanding of the client's brand and be passionate about producing creative concepts which compliment its brand, often whilst under time and budget constraints. The successful candidate will be able to stay informed of the latest technical innovations in design software and hardware- especially design programs.
