Working as a member of the Hitachi Design Centre Europe (HDCE) team, your brief will be to design high-quality, innovative and creative websites and microsites that support business objectives, create a competitive edge and maintain a consistent online brand image.

As part of a small design team you will be collaborating with many of our European or global Hitachi businesses to take their online communications projects from concept through development to launch and these projects could be as varied as a full business website redesign to a microsite for a product launch. Whatever the project it will be your responsibility to ensure that the solution is of high-quality design, delivered on-time, to budget and within brand guidelines.

To succeed you must have excellent graphic design skills and an outstanding knowledge and previous experience of web design, with an innovative approach to design solutions that challenges our businesses to ensure the very best online communications. It is expected that you will have good experience in using a wide variety of applications including HTML, XHTML, CSS, Java script/action scrip, JSP, Flash as well as Dream Weaver and Adobe CS4 bundle. An understanding of Web Trend 9 and experience of SEO are equally important.

In addition to your skills, knowledge and experience, you must be someone who is well informed on the latest design methods, eager to learn new skills and keeps themselves up-to-date with online media trends.

HDCE is a strategic office of Hitachi Design Division, Japan and collaborates closely with Hitachi businesses locally and globally, therefore a working knowledge of one other European language or Japanese, in addition to English, is essential. The ability to travel within Europe and to Japan is also essential.
